October 9, 1992


Meeting held - present Haggerty, Andrews, Crowley.  Rep. Mann, Senator Kirby, Paul Keenan, Resident Engineer, Paul Hayes, Assistant Engineer, Bill Dalton, State Construction Engineer, Contractor, Vincent DeQuattro, Albert Tedesca, as well as a number of Hanson residents and businessmen.  

Mr. Haggerty announced would be discussing three issues.  Progress on the road, quality of work, and the conduct of the workmen.  He allowed comments from both Mr. Andrews and Mr. Crowley.  Their main concerns surrounded the dust issues.  Mr. Mann and Mr. Kirby were concerned with length of time taking to get pavement down and numerous complaints their offices have received.  

Discussion continued with regard to neatness on the job, grading, and maintaining open driveways for residents as well as at intersecting ways.  MAJOR CONCERN  was dust.  Board of Health Agent announced that the State had conducted tests and were ordering cease and desist on the job if the dust issue is not settled immediately.  State resident engineer announced that Water truck on site and was agreed by all parties that it would be used.  

Mr. Dequattro and Mr. Dalton addressed concerns of residents and businesses as well as the Board.   After numerous questions were answered, Mr. Haggerty stated he would like another meeting to be held on Wednesday, in order to work on some type of schedule and understanding re the amount of work to be done and the amount of highway to be ripped up in the Town.  Meeting ended at 3:00 p.m.
